Happy Father's Day

I know it is pretty late but I wanted to put down a few thoughts. I love father's I have some pretty great influences in my life. First my papa. I love him dearly. There is no denying that he is mine and I am his. Second, my hubby and co-parent to two of the greatest kids ever created (I realize that I am slightly bias).Third to my father-in-law. Back in the day he was always giving his "fatherly" advice, when my last name was still Yurcisin. He told me one day that I would be his daughter, even if he had to adopt me. Well, I wouldn't have let that happen (see first). I 'am so greatful to have 3 such wonderful fathers in my life. I am greatful that because of them I am able to understand the love that a father has for his children. I am greatful that because of their examples I have a better understanding to depth in which I am loved, not just by the "fathers" through out the course of the day but also my Heavenly Father. I am greatful to know that I will be able to be with all of them at some point in the future.
Beckett, Monroe and I decided that we needed to complete Scotts family of Maglites. Don't ask. :) and so we got him a little Beckett and Monroe sized companion for him. I think Beckett was pretty excited. Once he woke up he was eager to give Scott the green bag filled with goodies and love. I asked him if he thought we should get Monroe to go with us and he concurred. He "not very quietly" went and woke up MEENROE (which is what he calls her) fortunately she was already awake and she ADORES Beckett so there was nothing but smiles and giggles the entire time we finished the prep work. They both ran into Scott and jumped on him and then Beckett excitely pulled everything out of the bag. He gave Scott the card that we made and then proceeded to empty the rest of the contents and put them behind him and then he gave Scott the bag, as if that was the REAL gift. Beckett wanted desperately for Scott to open the flashlights, so that he could use them but we had to get ready for church. As we were getting ready Beckett continued to play with that bag putting over his head, then playing peek-a-boo with himself in the mirror and then jumping on the bed. We had a wonderful morning and then we headed off to church. When we got home Scott let me take a little cat nap while he folded laundry. This is a pretty big feat to undertake - you see, I enjoy doing laundry just not folding so the majority of our clothes are clean sitting in baskets in the basement. One thing lead to another and then we were cleaning. It doesn't really feel like we got too much accomplished because destruction was right behind us pulling out toys and playing with each other. Apparently, you CAN clean for hours and see very little improvement. But we did get a few things DEEP cleaned. It wasn't until we finished the deep clean that Scott realized that his phone that had been misplaced earlier in the day was nowhere to be found. We looked in all of the logical places and couldn't find it. We had a suspicion that Beckett was the culprit of the missing telephone but we had asked him earlier and he had said no. Back to the present we started walking through the day. Scott was positive that his alarm on the phone had gone off this morning and then he placed it next to the real alarm clock. Shortly after is when this morning events took place then we left for church. It was right then I asked Scott where his flashlights were, he didn't know, those too were MIA. So our new focus was to find the flashlight and then we would find the phone. We continued to look in every place imaginable. Beckett's backpack, Monroe's backpack, the toys, the couches, the microwave, the basket on the back of the tricycle, the garage, the car, Beckett's bottom drawer where he keeps Scott's hi-jacked toiletry bag where he keeps a collection of important things (today it was Monroe's toothpaste, my electric toothbrush, a golf ball, a bouncy ball, a shirt, pens, socks...Scott had no idea that Beckett had taken the toiletry bag and neither of had an idea of how exstensive his stash was going to be. I am sad that I gave away his hiding place, I am sure he will beb able to find another or atleast he will switch up the loot). Scott was ready to give up but I have a fear about little kids and missing high priced items and their ability to survive..."the elements". I asked Scott "If I were Beckett where would I put the flashlights and dad's super cool phone that I am not suppossed to play with?" Then it hit me.
"Scott, where is that green gift bag? Did you throw it away?"
"No"
"I bet the flashlights and phone are in that bag, he was REALLY excited about it"
Our quest changed, we started over and relooked throughout the whole house for the bag. It went pretty quick since our item was larger now. Upstairs. CHECK. NOTHING. Then to the basement. Garage. CHECK. NOTHING. Office. Nothing again. Downstairs Bathroom...BINGO. So the bathroom that has only been used a handful of times since we moved in, in the shower that is still waiting to be used was a forest green gift bag. Scott picked it up, looked at me and said doubtfully "is this the bag?" YES!!!! At first glance you would not think that it was the right one. There were pens, floppy disks and other random office supplies. We turned the bag over and you would not believe the variety of items in that bag. In addition to the office supplies, there was toothpaste, Soft Scrub, game peices, toys, and there at the bottom was a sleek little I-phone and a minature set of maglite flashlights. Beckett, I LOVE that you are so predictably unpredictable. I love that little boy and all of his quirks.
