Our family has been SICK!! Not just a little under the weather, we were violently ill. It all started with Beckett. That day that I took Monroe to the doctor to check her ears was when it started. Beckett started with the runs. I felt so bad for him. It was to the point that he wouldn't let us change his diaper. He would scream and cry and try everything in his power to not let us touch him. I wanted to cry and did multiple times. One night I just laid in his bed and held him because he was in so much pain. I had to change his diaper 4 times in 30 minutes. I don't know how it happens but my children have the ability to rip my heart right out of my chest. I get to the point where I would do anything to make them feel better. It makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I love my children. It's so crazy to think that I have children, multiple, two. I don't feel like I am old enough to have two children. I don't know what I would do without them or their dad.
Back to the point of the post. My mom came and picked Monroe, Beckett and myself up and took us back down to St. Louis so that we could give Scott a little break from the duties of fatherhood (when we are at home he is always there to help me. And he always puts us first, which is a great thing except during the weeks preceeding his last set of finals in his law school career AND we want this to be the last set of finals that he has to study for). We figured there would be plenty to do at the house to get ready to move in. We arrived in STL and went straight over to the house, where we were greeted by my dad and 2 brothers. It was such a nice time, I cannot wait to live closer, we ate dinner, my mom washed all of my pots and pans that she got me for Christmas and we sat in lawn chairs in the front room and talked. It was dark outside so I couldn't really see outside but out of the blue I noticed a hint of color. All of the plants in our front yard had bloomed it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Perhaps the thing that made them the most beautiful was that I didn't have to do anything and that they are all mine. I hope they come up every year.
It is no secret Ihave a black thumb. I hope they survive me.
No trip to G-City is ever complete without a visit to Mr. Twist. They have the BEST sherbert known to man.
I didn't take pictures of all of the things that I got done but the biggest accomplishment was pulling up the carpet and unveiling the beautiful wood floors that had been laying covered for 50+ years. Michelle and I pulled up tack board and staples till the early morning hours.
